Administrative Sanctions in the Management of Food Safety

The term “sanction” can have various meanings and contexts in legal theory1. On the one hand, sanctions are seen as specific elements of a legal text or legal norm that lay down the repercussions for certain actions by the perpetrator (formal, normative meaning) 2. On the other hand, competent bodies that have coercive measures at their disposal (real meaning) may impose sanctions.
