Bee Safe – The Effects of Pollination of Bees and Other Pollinating Insects on the Environment, Health and Food Safety

Enrico Maria Giglioli

Pollinating insects, bees in particular, constitute a resource of exceptional importance for the global population at economic, environmental and food security levels. However, their chances of survival are now clearly at risk, especially because of the widespread use of pesticides. The paper will examine the contribution of pollinating insects, the techniques and laws put in place for their protection, as well as possible solutions in the event of extinction.

Enrico Maria Giglioli is Fellow of the European College of Parma / University of Parma (Diploma and Master in High European Studies). This paper constitutes the thesis for the Common Agricultural Policy exam, supervised by Prof. Fausto Capelli.
