A recent ruling of the Danish Environment and Food Board of Appeal has favoured the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) regarding the analysis requirement in Article 9(1) of the Food Supplement Directive. Only recently, the DVFA started to actively enforce the requirement mentioned in Article 9(1) of the Directive. The food business operators still have to get used to this rather new authority practice.

On 24 October 2018, the parliamentary parties in Denmark concluded a four-year political agreement on food inspection with effect from 2019. The agreement may be viewed as a framework for how the Danish Parliament wishes the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) to target and prioritise its efforts in 2019-2022. The DVFA inspects food businesses in Denmark and imposes sanctions on unlawful practice.
