While the rest of Europe has been discussing the amendments to the Regulation on Novel Food (EC) No 258/97 (Old Novel Food Regulation) over the past few years, culminating in the new regulation (EU) 2015/2283 on novel food (New Novel Food Regulation), it is only recently that the Old Novel Food Regulation has been incorporated into the European Economic Area Agreement of 1992 (EEA Agreement) and thus become applicable in Norway. It was officially included by the EEA Committee on June 11th 2015. No other EU Regulation has been pending longer prior to the inclusion. So, why is this?
