On 29 June 2023, Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 (hereinafter referred to as Deforestation Regulation) came into force. It establishes a novel system of corporate due diligence obligations to ensure deforestation-free supply chains. Only if the relevant commodities and products comply with the provisions of the Regulation may they be placed on the market by companies from now on.
