Today, products made from red yeast rice are appearing exponentially on the food supplement market. Indeed, it is scientifically proven that some of these food supplements containing red yeast rice can benefit people suffering from hypercholesterolemia. Such products contain a specificmolecule calledMonacolin K. Thismolecule, also known as lovastatin, has the chemical characteristics of the substances of the statin family.
