Introduction Although not a member of the EU, Switzerland has developed very close economic ties with its powerful neighbour. Due to this economic involvement, EC Food Law has been leading the evolution of Swiss Food Law for a long time. EC Food Law is firstly significant because the conformity of the Swiss products has to be assured in order to export them in the Member States (Art. 11 Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002).
